14) Tomatoes
Tomatoes have nutritional value with higher amounts of lycopene, a vitamin A derivative. Tomatoes are a good source of antioxidants to fight against free radicals and prevent oxidative injury to your cells with imminent threat of pathology leading to cancer. Regular intake of tomatoes with your diet fetches sufficient concentration of lycopene. They are also a good source of vitamin C, which acts as a shield to cell damage. Apart from cancer, tomatoes are beneficial to heart, diabetic and osteoporotic patients. As osteoporotic patients need to be exposed to sun rays to get vitamin, tomatoes protect the skin from sun rays. Sandwich garnished with tomatoes attracts you more and your salads with tomato may be a good choice. But concentration of lycopene is more in cooked form than having it raw. The intensity of reddish colour is directly proportional to the concentration of lycopene. You may prefer the dark reddish tomatoes and cooked tomatoes! Have tomatoes and stay away from cancer!
