How to learn dance steps

When one has to attend parties, learning to dance becomes essential. Here, two forms of dancing are explained – Tap Dancing and Ballroom Dancing.

Tap Dancing.
Tap dancing is very easy. Music should be put on and tap shoes worn. Then start tapping the toe, faster and faster. The begin brushing one of the balls of the foot forward and back. The next step is ball changing by stepping back on left foots ball and stepping on your right. The next step is brushing forward and stepping on the ball. Then do the cramps roll. Jump up and land with the feet, first on right ball, then on left ball, then the right heel and then the left heel. The next step is doing the step toe by stepping with the right foot and touching the left toe. The next step involves learning the stomp which is similar to stepping. For stomping, one has to hit the foot on the ground thereafter lifting it off. The next step is doing a shuffle hop. The basic shuffle hop should be done with the right foot, jumping up. The right foot should be left in the air.

Ballroom Dancing.
The initial position of man and woman can be one hand hold or two hand hold. Both partners face each other and stand apart, the man holding either one hand or both hands of the lady. Another position is the outside right one. Here, the feet of the lady are to the right of those of the man. The shoulders of both of them are directly across from each other. The man has to put his right hand on the lower part of lady’s back. Similar is the outside left position. In the next position which is the Promenade one, both partners should face towards the same direction. In the next step –the shadow position, one partner shadows the others moves. One partner should be either in the front or slightly left or right, stepping in same direction with similar foot. The partners can be in touching position or slightly or completely apart. The next is the skating position where their hands are joined in front; the right hands, below and the left ones above. The next Fallaway position involves taking small steps backwards. In the next step, which is the challenge position, both the partners move apart without any contact, facing each other but not holding hands.
