Thus, the line at the top is the first string and the bottom one the sixth string. The numbers at these horizontal lines are the fret numbers indicating the fret to play. It is important to understand the fret board and to identify the notes on the guitar, twelve in number. Each fret is for a specific note. The next step is learning strumming a guitar. By learning rhythms, one can develop as a complete musician. Basic theories of music and notations should be understood which includes music intervals, in the electric guitars, it is important to learn to use a guitar pick. Warm up exercises should be done before the guitar practice. A practice plan should be made, devoting at least 45 to 60 minutes daily for it.
