Some thank you letters are truly important and not writing them is sacrilegious. You should always make it a point to write a special thank you letter to the interviewer of a new employment who has given you the job. This will create a feeling of goodwill and make a special rapport with him after you start work. Other thank you letters should be written to the guests who made it a point to attend your wedding, to those who came to the christening of your child, to those who attended your dear one’s funeral and to those who have given you good advice.

A thank you note would also be appreciated after you have accepted someone’s hospitality and stayed at their house or if you have been taken around the town when your were visiting it by a person who belonged there. These special acts of kindness need not have been done as a matter of fact, but since the person took the trouble to make it more comfortable for you in some way, you in return should express your gratitude with a genuine letter of thanks. Make the sound of the letter genuine and heartfelt and let the receiver truly feel that he or she has been appreciated and the writer really means what he writes. Choose your words carefully and make an impact on the reader by your meaningful letter. Writing should come for the heart and the feelings will be communicated much better to the reader.
